Community of Practice (CoP) on Research Culture

The Community of Practice (CoP) in Research Culture aims to connect all relevant stakeholders at the VU and Amsterdam UMC involved in projects related to research culture (including topics such as recognition and rewards, diversity, equity, research assessment and social safety) and/or actively working on these topics (e.g. as members of working groups, dedicated offices, policymakers).

Mission

The CoP on Research Culture aims to:  
  • connect academics, researchers and non-academic staff actively working on topics related to research culture at the VU and Amsterdam UMC;
  • share initiatives taking place to promote a positive research culture;
  • facilitate discussions on the need to improve research culture at the institutional level;
  • support the development of a toolkit to promote positive research culture practices at the VU and Amsterdam UMC.

Activities

TheĀ  CoP on Research Culture will promote periodic meetings with academics, researchers and non-academic staff at the VU and Amsterdam UMC to:

  • share initiatives and projects on topics related to research culture (including recognition and rewards, diversity, equity, research assessment and social safety);
  • establish cooperation on topics related to research culture;
  • discuss concrete actions and recommendations to improve the research culture at the VU and Amsterdam UMC;
  • develop a toolkit for promoting a positive research culture at the VU and Amsterdam UMC.
