CoP for the Amsterdam MetaScience Network - OPEN
The Community of Practice (CoP) Amsterdam Meta Science Network (AMSN) brings together meta-researchers based in Amsterdam, affiliated with VU Amsterdam, the University of Amsterdam, Amsterdam UMC, InHolland, The Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (HvA), and Amsterdam based NWO-Institutes such as the CWI, AMOLF, ARCNL, Nikhef, and NSCR. The network is open to researchers of all disciplines.
Aims
- Stage research - Give meta scientists in Amsterdam a stage for the presentation and discussion of their ongoing research.
- Facilitate networking - Create collaboration in future meta science research.
- Improve science in practice - Contribute to a culture change towards self-correction in science.
Activites
The AMSN organizes a monthly research seminar at VU Amsterdam, where researchers discuss new research on research. Relevant topics include research integrity, reproducibility, robustness, peer review, research funding and publication decisions, epistemology, open science monitoring, artificial intelligence, detection and prevention of errors in science, research assessment, recognition and rewards, research culture, codes of conduct, responsible research practices, questionable research practices, and research ethics.
Coordinators
The Amsterdam Meta Science Network was co-founded by Jack Fitzgerald and Rene Bekkers, who coordinate it with assistance of the Center for Research Integrity and Open Science (RIOS) at VU Amsterdam.
